Welcome to Kindergarten! We are excited to have your child in class this year and are looking forward to a fun and rewarding year.
KINDERGARTEN DROP-IN - August 13th, 2019
Kindergarten Drop-In will be at 4:00 pm on Tuesday August 13th. During this time, you will get to take your child to meet their teacher and visit their classroom. On PTA will be handing out snacks and you will have the opportunity to purchase your Dolphin SpiritWear!
DROP OFF & PICK UP
If you are planning to park and walk your child to the Kindergarten gate in the morning, and/or, pick your child up after school from his or her designated spot along the fence, the best place to park is at Lake Park. After school when the bell rings, your youngsters will be in their teacher's designated meeting area, outside the fence, for pick up. All grades will be released at the same time, so you are strongly encouraged to arrive early to pick up your youngster at the fence if possible. (It is best to avoid the "Cage" if you can.) If your child is not picked up at the fence, she/he will be escorted to the front area of the "Cage." Please note that your kinder child will be allowed to be picked up by an older sibling at the fence, or, be released to them in the "Cage." Please let us know what the dismissal procedure will be for your family!
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Once your child is assigned a teacher, you will receive a small list of school supplies to bring during the first week of school. ALL students are asked to bring in over the ear (not ear buds) headphones in a plastic zip bag. These headphones will remain at school for the year.
LUNCH
Lunch is 45 minutes long. For the first 15 minutes, students are required to sit at the tables and eat their lunches. Please provide your child with a nutritious lunch.
SNACK
Your child will also be having a nutrition break in the afternoon. Please include a small nutritious snack for this time. Please do not send soda, candy, or sugary foods. We won't be having nutrition break on Mondays.
CLOTHING
Dress your child in casual clothes for school. For safety reasons, Lake dress code specifies no long dresses, spaghetti straps, open-toed and open heeled shoes, beach sandals, or cowboy boots.
VOLUNTEERS
We love volunteers! We encourage you to be active in your child's education.We will have more information for volunteer sign up at Back to School Night.
